As Dr Chidi Lloyd Dislodges Tank Truck Drivers At Elele-Alimini Roundabout

Dr Lloyd hinted that the local government council will be setting up a taskforce to checkmate the activities of tank truck and trailer drivers along the Emohua LGA stretch of the East-West, with a view to ensuring free flow of traffic and safety of road users in the area.
Irked by the indiscriminate parking of tank trucks used by illegal oil bunkers along the Elele-Alimini axis of the East-West road, which has severally resulted to avoidable road mishaps and fire outbreaks in the area, Dr Chidi Lloyd on his way to the office from his country home in Akpabu on Thursday stopped over at Elele-Alimini to dislodged tank truck and trailer drivers obstructing free flow of traffic at Elele-Alimini roundabout, where the oil bunkers and their partners in crime took to their heels on sighting the council chairman and his team of security personnel in action.
Disappointed by the obvious involvement of security personnel in the illegal oil bunkering activities in the area, after he intercepted a security patrol team suspected to be aiding the activities of illegal oil bunkers at Elele-Alimini roundabout, Dr Lloyd urged stakeholders and youths of Elele-Alimini to join hands with the government to end the increasing rate of criminal activities in the area, stressing that the major beneficiaries of the illegal oil bunkering activities in the area are actually non residents of the area who stands to lose nothing in the event of any destruction in the community as a result of their illegal business.
The council chairman also accused leaders of the various communities where illegal oil bunkering activities are reported of fraternizing with the criminals who are destroying their communities and warned that anyone found culpable in the fight against crime and criminality in the area will be visited with the full weight of the law, irrespective of societal recognition, stressing that no amount of financial benefit is worth the harm and destruction associated with illegal oil bunkering.
He however directed the local government revenue committee to work out the modalities for the council to set up a trailer park within Elele-Alimini axis of the East-West road to accommodate tank trucks and trailers operating legitimately in the area.
